Debriefs begin

The reality

Most of it happens in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday.

A team member pushes back in the meeting and you let it slide.

Someone hands in work that isn't good enough, so you quietly fix it yourself.

Your manager drops a change on you and you pass it on, without saying what you really think.

A decision sits on your desk for a week because you want to be sure.

You say “leave it with me” more times than you can count.

By the time you get home you're tired, a bit flat, and replaying it all. None of it is a big failure. But it adds up, and you know you're capable of more than you're showing.

This isn't a knowledge problem

You have a fairly good idea what good leadership looks like. You've done some training, read a bit, listened to the podcasts.

The gaps show up in the moment. Someone pushes back, a decision lands on you, the pressure's on, and the framework disappears. You fall back on old habits. You hold back, over-explain, or take it all on yourself.

Leader2Leader works on that moment.

Leader2Leader brooke Baxter online group coaching session

Why a small group

You'll feel less alone before anything else.

You'll be in a room with four other managers carrying the same weight and similar tensions. By session two you'll know their context and their sticking points, and they'll know yours.

That's what makes the feedback useful. They'll spot the pattern you can't see, question the story you're telling yourself, and push you to try something different. You'll practise it in the room, then take it back to work.

This isn't a discussion group, and it isn't a lecture. Every session ends with one clear action you commit to before the next one.

What we'll work on

Shaped by your group, grounded in real work

Each session is shaped by what the group's diagnostics show, but you'll likely work across these areas.

Understanding yourself

How you react under pressure, and why, before you try to change anything else.

Addressing behaviour and expectations

Why you don't say it, and what to do instead.

Leading conversations

Staying in it when it gets uncomfortable, and holding your position under pushback.

Leading without carrying

Stepping back without abandoning people, and handing the load back to the team.

Staying clear under pressure

The steadiness that stops everything else collapsing when the heat's on.

This is for you if

You know you're capable of more

You're a middle manager, probably in community, health, education, frontline or human services. Something keeps you smaller than you need to be. You second-guess decisions, wait for permission you don't need, carry more than you should, or hold back when you should step in. You worry you'll make things worse.

You're willing to look honestly at how you lead, and you want to be pushed.

This isn't for you if

You want it to feel comfortable

If you want theory, validation or another certificate, this isn't it. If you want to be told you're already doing it right, save your money.

This is coaching for people who are ready to be put to work.

In their words

What past participants say

“I'm doing less of their job and more of mine.”

This was the first time I had been involved in any coaching workshops. I went in thinking my problem was workload management, and I couldn't cope with the pressures. It wasn't just this. I was holding onto work my team could do because it felt easier. The group called that out pretty quickly, and I couldn't ignore it any longer. Three months later, I'm doing less of their job and more of mine.

Rachel, CSO

“I back myself a lot more now.”

I'd been in my leadership role for two years. My supervisor encouraged me to sign up as they had also done something similar and felt this would help me evolve as a manager. One thing I struggled with was needing the green light to make decisions. I needed constant reassurance from my manager and sometimes the team to make a decision. Hearing other managers name a similar thing made me realise it wasn't just me. Brooke didn't let me hide behind 'I'm still learning'. We had real conversations about the work and times when I wasn't leading at my best and holding my team accountable. I back myself a lot more now.

Beth, CSO

“Couldn't recommend it any more.”

The RLM leadership training has been wholeheartedly different from other leadership trainings I have attended, in the best way possible. The information and resources are engaging, direct and authentic, with a clear connection to the actual day to day moments in my role as a TL. The modules link knowledge to practice really well, and the tools and conversation prompts have been really effective in my 1:1's. The uniqueness is how the RLM is personalised to your individual skillset, it strengthens your gaps while also acknowledging what you already do really well. I love that I can return to it during live issues I'm managing, to prepare for harder conversations and to reflect afterwards. Couldn't recommend it any more.

Brooke Baxter

Most managers don't need more information. They need someone to notice the pattern, name it, and stay with them while they try something different. That's how I coach.

I built the Relational Leadership Method from watching what actually shifts people. Not big breakthroughs, but small, practical changes in how you show up, practised until they stick.

In the group, I'll ask the question you've been avoiding, push your thinking past where it usually stops, and hold you to what you said you'd do. You'll also leave every session with something you can use the next day.

Questions

Before you register

Is this right for me if I'm new to managing?

Yes. It suits newer managers finding their feet and experienced ones who've got stuck in patterns. What matters is that you're ready to look at how you're holding yourself back.

What actually happens in a group session?

A quick check-in, then one real situation someone brings. The group works through it together, you learn a practical skill that fits, and you practise it. You leave with one thing to do before the next session.

Do I have to share personal stuff in front of others?

You bring work situations, and you decide how much you share. Most people find the group gets honest quickly because everyone's in the same boat. What's said in the room stays in the room.

What if I don't have a situation to bring?

You will, most people have more than they realise. And you'll learn just as much from working on someone else's. Their situation often shows you something about your own.

How much time do I need?

Each group session is 90 minutes, every second Tuesday. The start time will be confirmed with the group, but it's likely to be 9:30am. Between sessions, set aside an hour or so to work through the modules and practise at work. The practice is where things actually shift, so don't skip it.

When are the sessions, and what about Christmas?

Debriefs happen in the week of 10 November. Group sessions run on Tuesdays: 17 November, 1 December and 15 December, then we break for summer and pick up again on 19 January, 2 February and 16 February. Start time is to be confirmed, likely 9:30am. You'll go into the break with a clear focus, so the time off becomes real-world practice, not a gap.

What if I miss a session?

You can miss one session at most. Sessions aren't recorded, so people can speak openly, but you'll get a summary of the session and the learning activities so you can catch up before the next one. The group works because people show up for each other, so if you already know you'll miss more than one, have a chat with me before you register.

Is it online?

Yes, it's fully online and every session is live on Zoom. You'll need a quiet, private space where you can talk openly, and your camera on. This works best when people can see each other.

How is this different from a leadership course?

There are no lectures and nothing to memorise. You work on your real situations, with people who get it, and practise the skills until they're usable.

What's in the RLM online modules?

The Relational Leadership Method is the framework behind Leader2Leader. The online modules give you the tools and practices we use in the group, so you can go deeper between sessions. Have a look at the RLM course here.

What's the Relational Leadership Method Confidence Diagnostic?

A short self-assessment that shows how you respond under pressure and where your confidence drops. It's not a test. It gives us a starting point for your debrief and learning plan.

Why only five people?

So there's nowhere to hide and enough time for everyone. You'll know each other's context well enough that the feedback actually means something.

Will my workplace know what I share?

No. What you bring stays between you, me and the group.

Can my workplace pay?

Yes. Many managers use their professional development budget for this. I can invoice your organisation directly, and your workplace can cover the full cost or part of it. Just mention it on your discovery call.

Will the price go up?

Yes. Future cohorts will be $2,150. The $1,150 founding price is only for this first online group.

How does the payment plan work?

$1,150 upfront, or three monthly payments of $385.

Do I keep access to the modules afterwards?

Yes. You get lifetime access to the RLM online modules, so you can keep going back to the tools long after the group finishes.

What if it's not what I expected?

If you change your mind before your debrief, you'll get a full refund. Once your debrief has happened, places can't be refunded, because the group is built around the five people in it. If you can't continue, your place will be moved to the next Leader2Leader group instead.

What happens when I register my interest?

You'll get an info pack on Leader2Leader and the Relational Leadership Method, so you can see exactly how it works before you decide anything. Then we'll book a short discovery call. Registering isn't a commitment.
